Theodros Mengesha, MD brings more than 20 years of experience practicing neurology and 5 years of clinical research experience to New Horizon Research Group. His extensive clinical background provides a deep understanding of neurological conditions and the challenges patients face throughout diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Mengesha combines decades of patient care with experience conducting clinical trials, supporting the evaluation of emerging therapies for disorders of the central nervous system. Scariya M. Kumaramangalam, MD brings more than 20 years of experience in psychology and behavioral health, along with 1 year of clinical research experience, to New Horizon Research Group. Michael Howell
Director of Psychiatric and CNS Program

Michael Howell is a clinical research and clinical affairs professional with 7 years of experience in CNS research and a Master’s degree in Clinical Research Management. He has led research operations across more than 20 global clinical sites, with extensive experience in patient recruitment, study execution, data quality, and multi-site clinical operations.
Throughout his career, Michael has contributed to exceptionally strong enrollment performance, including helping sites achieve top global enrollment in three highly challenging-to-recruit clinical trials. His work focuses on translating clinical workflows and real-world healthcare data into practical strategies that improve patient identification, recruitment efficiency, and overall study performance.
Michael also has experience advancing AI-enabled clinical research, including the development of an AI-Assisted Flagging System (AFS) that leverages electronic health record data to support more efficient identification of potential study participants. His background bridges clinical operations, research design, and data-driven innovation to support high-quality CNS research and evidence generation in real-world healthcare settings.
